No evidence of healing after
three months. Wound is full thickness with
surface exudates. Consider removal of
exudates and placement of a tissue engineered
wound matrix to close wound and add matrix
components. Non-weight bearing should
continue to avoid any pressure.
Chronic Wound on BK Amputation Stump
The non-healing wound is
characterized by inflammation, poor
granulation tissue, no matrix in wound base,
devitalized tissue on edges. Consider
debridement, then placement of a tissue
engineered wound matrix like Oasis®
to close the open wound and add matrix
components.
